We can’t think of productivity as the result of what we do. In fact, productivity is a mindset that allows us to achieve the tasks at hand.

My approach to being effective and productive is to begin with the end in mind and to ask pertinent questions.

What is the optimal result I want to see for my life or business?

What is the vision that falls in line with my mission?

How do I get to a place where I achieve a result that is both financially beneficial that aligns with my values?

Once I’ve established what the end result should look like, I will walk the steps backwards thinking in terms of three key areas:

  • Relationships (Political Impact)
  • Financial Impact (both on the Revenue and Expense)
  • Operational Process

Establishing those steps should be the beginning of a plan. The timely execution of that plan allows me to be productive.
